Landscape design in Orlando, FL

Beds, plants and layouts planned together with the water that keeps them alive.

Design that starts with water

Most landscape designs are drawn first and watered later. That is how you end up with thirsty plants on the same zone as plants that drown, and a sprinkler system that can never be set right. A sprinkler company designing a yard does it the other way around.

The idea is simple and comes straight from Florida-Friendly Landscaping guidance: right plant, right place. Sun-loving plants go where the sun is. Shade plants go under the oaks. Plants with similar water needs are grouped together, and each group gets its own zone with the right kind of head or drip line.

How a design comes together

  • A walk around the yardWhere the sun hits, where water sits, what you like and how you use the space.
  • Beds and layoutBed lines, borders and open lawn arranged so the yard reads clean from the street.
  • Plant choicesPlants that handle Central Florida heat, sandy soil and summer rain.
  • The water planZones matched to the plantings, so beds, turf and palms each get what they need.
  • InstallBeds built, plants in, mulch down and the sprinklers set for the new layout.

Built for Central Florida yards

Orlando soil is mostly sand. It drains fast and holds little, so new plantings need steady water while they root in and much less once they are settled. The dry spring and the rainy summer pull in opposite directions too. A design that accounts for all of that looks good in its first month and still looks good in its fifth year.

Plenty of Orlando neighborhoods also have HOA landscape rules. If yours does, bring them along, and the design works inside them.
