Sod installation in Orlando, FL

Old turf out, ground prepped, new sod laid tight and watered in.

A new lawn that takes

New sod is the fastest way to turn a patchy, weedy lawn into a green one. It is also easy to waste. Sod laid on bad ground, with gaps at the seams or a sprinkler system that misses half of it, starts dying in strips within weeks.

Most of the work happens before the first roll goes down. The old turf and weeds come out, the ground is leveled so water does not pool, and the sprinkler coverage gets checked so every part of the new lawn will actually get wet.

Picking the right grass

St. Augustine is the most common lawn grass in Orlando. It handles heat well and fills in thick, and some varieties do better in partial shade than others. Bahia is tough and low on care, a good fit for big, sunny lots. Zoysia makes a dense, fine lawn that feels great underfoot but wants more attention. The right choice depends on your sun, your shade and how much care you want to give it.

Often and lightly for the first couple of weeks while the roots grow in, then less often and deeper. The timer gets set for that stretch when the sod goes down.
